My most expensive day ever. I got a free layover on my way to London, so I booked a cheap airbnb and was off to a great start. To its credit, the airbnb suggested I take a bus from the airport to a nearby hotel and walk. I, at 4am when my flight arrived, decided that seemed unsafe. Thought Iceland is a very safe country, I was still a woman traveling alone, in a foreign country. So, a few hundred dollars later, a taxi delivered me from the airport to my airbnb.
