Why do Weddings Cost More?

Why does something cost more just because it's called a wedding? I bet you'll find this to be true with your venue, caterer, hair and makeup, musicians, and yes your photographer too. But why?

Well, I don't know why venues charge more, but as a photographer, I'll do a lot more retouching for your wedding than your event. Here's what I mean:
